My Social Media experience in a nut shell

Brands no longer have a choice when it comes to not participating in a users on-line experience. The ROI in social media is the existence of your brand in 5yrs. I have been fortunate to work with numerous brands in the US on implementation, strategy development & execution of social media campaigns and brand awareness. There are millions of brands out there in the web, with rich, organic and appealing content that is being dispersed in mass amounts. In order for a company to succeed today, their strategies and attention should not avoid the potential targeted audience reach, influence and power of (WOM).

To be awesome in social media, you only have to be average, because the majority of these brands are down right horrible. Shoving content into the users face will only drive them away. Listening is a major part of social media, if not the most important part. Sales people tend to forget the key to selling, its listen first and respond second. I have been in social business since the MySpace days and one thing ive done every year is build relationships that convert into communities of brand advocates and word of mouth marketers.

Social media may be a lot of peoples passion, but to truly understand what it all means after years or even a year, its simply customer service. We are providing service, insight, and information to much more than our targeted audience. Its the globe, I mean after all,... Everyones a potential consumer right?

The way I explain things change on a daily, sometimes it sounds smooth and calm and sometimes it comes off straight up raw and uncut. I try not to dilly dally with you guys since time is money. Id love to hear what your experience with social business has been since this revolution...
